TextMate has some really cool features including the create TODO:, FIXME: and CHANGED: list. Have you ever had an application in development and were working on a block of code then had to go away or go work on another file, but wanted to remember that you still had to go back and finished that block of code? Or have you ever wanted to develop parts of your code further later down the road? Or have you ever scripted something that didn’t work right but got frusturated and left it for a while only to try and go back to it but forgot where it was? Or have you ever worked with multiple people on the same application and wanted to tell them all the changes you made? If you answered yes or no to any or all of these you should check out TextMate. During your development processes you can simply put in a comment anywhere in your code ie: for php => //TODO: your todo item or //FIXME: your fix me item or //CHANGED: your changed item and then hit (Mac) shift+ctrl+t and a window will pop up that scans every file in your opened project for these comments then lists them with links that will jump to the page and highlight the line they are on! WOW! That’s pretty cool. Get’s rid of the memory thing and that’s a good thing for me! As we developers know we have enough on our minds!
